AI should not simply reproduce the inequalities already present in our data. Building fair and trustworthy AI requires inclusive data, sex-disaggregated analysis, bias testing, human oversight and governance that puts people at the centre. For Cambodia, this means developing AI policies and systems that recognise local culture, language and marginalized communities, while ensuring that innovation remains ethical, accountable and inclusive.
